MWBro John Henry William Carter, Grand Master of Mark Master Masons of South Australia and the Northern Territory of Australia Incorporated will be travelling to the Northern Territory to attend the Installations for the Mark and Royal Ark Mariner which will take place in September 2016 as per below.

On the 2nd June 2016 the MacDonnell Royal Arch Chapter No. 22,  located at the Brighton Masonic Centre, worked the Red Cross of Babylon degree working. On this occasion eleven Royal Arch Masons were dubbed Knights of the Red Cross.   The Red Cross Degree is only worked on rare occasions within the Royal Arch Chapter of the South Australia and Northern Territory Constitution, the last time had been four years ago.

The historic Moonta Lodge Room was the setting on Saturday 14th May 2016 when the Duke of Edinburgh Lodge No. 16 and Thorngate Lodge No. 118 performed the Re-enactment Ceremony of the Twinning of Lodges.   Twenty four Brethren were present to witness the Ceremony including VWBro. Peter Camm, District Grand Superintendent.

On the 8th July 2016 at the Marden Masonic Centre, The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite for Australia (affectionately known as the "Rose Croix") in Region 5, which covers South Australia and the Northern Territory, held a Ceremony of Installation to install a new District Commander of the District of South Australia Flinders.

Several members of Lodge Foelsche had read Richard Knight and Robert Lomas’ book “Uriel's Machine: The Ancient Origins of Science”. (Cornerstone, 2001).  The book proffers a broad range of hypotheses, which cover the Great Flood, the Book of Enoch, Archaeoastronomy and Freemasonry. Foelsche’s WM, WBro. Ian Hollingsworth asked RWBro. Colin Hallenstein to lead a discussion about some elements in the book and in particular the relationship of the planet Venus to Freemasonry.

    On Wednesday the 20th April 2016, five Brethren from Quorn Lodge No. 59, and three ladies, travelled to Worumba Station 28 kms. from Hawker to present a Fifty-Five and Sixty Year Bar to WBro. Lindsay Clarke.   Due to his age, health and distance from Quorn WBro. Clarke is unable to attend Quorn meetings in the evenings.

On Saturday, 21st May 2016 RWBro. Brenton Hand had the privilege and pleasure of presenting the Riding for Disabled (O’Halloran Hill Branch) with a cheque for $2,000 from the charitable funds of Lodge Reynell No 243, ably supported by the Freemasons Foundation.   The donation is to be used in providing funds for the purchase of work boots for the fifty or so volunteers who attend the Complex.

The Grand Mark Lodge of South Australia and the Northern Territory of Australia Incorporated held its Annual Communication on the 15th of June 2016.   Approximately eighty Brethren were in attendance and saw the Investiture of the Grand Officers in addition to various business items.

WBro. Maurie Bartley, who turned 100 years old on Saturday 14th May 2016, was Acting Worshipful Master for the opening of Le Hunte Lodge No. 142 meeting, which was held on Sunday 22nd May, 2016, at Minnipa. The meeting was the conclusion of the Installation because the incoming Worshipful Master, WBro. Alan Price, had not been available prior due to an accident.
